Parents and Friends of Lesbians and Gays (PFLAG) was founded in 1972 from the simple act of a mother publicly supporting her gay son. PFLAG is the family, friends, and allies of the nation’s LGBTQ+ community. PFLAG’s mission is to support, educate, and advocate to advance equality and full societal affirmation of LGBTQ+ people.

National Gay and Lesbian Task Force
The National LGBTQ Task Force advocates and fights for full freedom, justice and equality for LGBTQ people. They strive towards a future that accepts everyone to be themselves in all aspects of their lives. Millions of LGBTQ+ still face invisible but great barriers in every aspect of their lives. They are denied full access to basic human rights and face rejection and discrimination in housing, employment, healthcare, and retirement. Hence the Task Force is dedicated to training and mobilizing millions of activists across our nation to deliver a world where you can be you.
