Bisexuality does not necessarily mean equally attracted to both males and females. Here are some ways to categorize sexual identity.

The Kinsey Scale identifies sexuality on a 7-point continuum. The scale gives an idea of how strongly a person identifies as being homosexual, heterosexual, or ambisexual.

The Klein Sexual Orientation Grid identifies sexuality based on a number of characteristics. This Scale considers sexual attraction, sexual behavior, sexual fantasies, emotional preference, social preference, (hetero/homo)sexual lifestyle, and self identification. It also considers these variables in the context of past, present, and future, and recognizes that sexual orientation is an ongoing dynamic process.
