Physical Health and STIs

STIs are defined as infections or diseases that are spread by sex. It is very important to know that carriers for an STI may not show symptoms of the disease, so sexually active people should always get tested. There are over 30 different bacteria, viruses, and parasites that can cause STIs. Bacterial STIs include chlamydia, gonnorhea, and syphilis. Viral STIs include herpes, HIV/AIDS, and genital warts. Parasitic STIs include trichomoniasis [1]. These are just a few of the many STIs.
